I made this Dark Knight themed Wall-lamp using Led Strip and a Sunboard. You can also use Cardboard instead of the Sunboard.
Things Needed :-
- Sunboard (https://amzn.to/2VSO8Xd)
- LED Strip (https://amzn.to/37Zbopv)
- LED Strip Adapter (https://amzn.to/3xOgzTw)
- A Plug
- Black Chart Paper (from any local store)
- Cardboard
- Glue gun and gluestick (https://amzn.to/37KBTPm)
- Wire
- Tape
- Glue
Steps:-
Step 1:
Cutout the shape on the SunBoard . I had it cut out from before hand (as in the last picture). Take a chart paper ,and cut out the shape , allow some extra area around the shape , so that it can be fitted easily in the back ,using glue. Use scissor to cut and fold the paper in the curves easily. It would look something like this..
Step 2:
Cut small pieces of cardboard. Paste them on the cut-out so that we can
paste the LED strip more easily. Paste on the border of the cut-out with
some space left out from the border, just as shown in the picture below. Make
sure you cut the pieces for the edges properly according to shape, so that we
can fix the LED strip properly.
Step 3:
Take the LED Strip and take off the adhesive off slowly and paste in on
to the pieces. Make sure you put the output w ire on the inside. Cover the
border of the shape and then cut out the led wherever marked. Cutting the led
strip at wrong place may not lit the end of the strip properly.
Step 4:
Take the wire, the wire may be of the length required according to your
choice, attach to the positive and the negative of the led strip. Make sure you
tape the joining of the wires else short-circuit may occur. Take the other end and
connect it to the adapter DC wires. Make sure you connect the positive wire to
the Adapter Positive and negative to the Adapter Negative. Here also, you apply
tape on each wire joints. The images might help you understand it better.
Step 5:
To Mount it on a wall, take two 1 sq. inch of cardboard and paste it on
top of each other. Make 2 or 3 more of same kind (as many as required). Paste
them on the back of the cut out, onto the empty places. Then apply hot glue on
top of those pieces and fix them on the wall. After pressing it onto the wall,
hold it for a minute or 2, so that the glue dries. For temporary fixture , cut
out the shape as shown below on a piece of cardboard. Paste it on the middle of
the cut-out, on top of 1 more small pieces of small cardboard. You can now hang
it on the wall.
